I had been working on a HUGE feature for the next major version, but my non-GWX responsibilities prevented me from completing that work before Microsoft halted Phase One of the Windows 10 upgrade push.
Sometime soon- probably in the coming week- I will publish a minor update to the program that fixes a couple of bugs that are already described in the troubleshooting guide. I've also written some new instructions for uninstalling/removing GWX Control Panel if you're the gambling type. While the jury's still out on whether Windows 7/8.1 folks are truly out of the woods, I have added a topic to the FAQ that discusses GWX Control Panel's role in the post-July-29th world (see topic #2). August 1, 2016: The current version of GWX Control Panel is still 1.7.4.1, and Microsoft has finally ended their year-long "Get Windows 10" campaign of pestering Windows 7/8.1 users into upgrading to an operating system that they don't necessarily need or want.
This is good utility for sysadmins and users who would prefer portable applications.Just some quick notes before we get to the documentation. There is a search bar to quickly search for the app you want to run.Īpart from sysinternals and nirsoft tools, it also offers shortcuts for windows utilities, using this app you can run windows tools like defragmenter, disk cleanup event viewer etc. The left menu of WSCC provides shortcuts for the applications categorized according to the provider and nature of the utility. Sysinternals applications can be accessed from the net but nirsoft utilities you have to download yourself. Download the app and run it, first time set options for storing sysinternals and nirsoft files. It is a standalone application and does not need any install process. Windows System Control Center can execute the programs offered by Sysinternals and Nirsoft.
WSCC itself is not a tool but it is just an UI for managing some useful freeware utilities. Windows System Control Center is a freeware portable utility that provides UI for organizing and executing various free utility tools.
